weddings

Hey girl, hey!!  I am so excited for you in this wonderful season of life! The process of transitioning from a Ms. to a Mrs. is such a beautiful journey, and it would be an absolute honor to be the one to go down that path with y'all!

I like to describe my photographic style as traditionally modern. Totally an oxymoron, I know, but I feel like my style lends itself to be quite classic, but also really bright and fresh.

a one-of-a-kind experience for your
one-of-a-kind love story

I love a mixture of guided posing and candid images that truly capture the pretty (and real) moments of the day. There are times throughout the wedding day where I will help create the most flattering images for you, but there are other times where you won't even know I am there.

I truly love being able to document a couple's unique story and relationship, and I would absolutely LOVE to hear all about you, your journey, and your vision!

THE WEDDING PROCESS

next step:

Consultations are crucial for getting to know one another.  I want to hear your story, see your excitement, and find out how I can serve you!  Believe it or not, you'll be spending more time with me on your wedding day than your SPOUSE, so we should probably be best friends.

We get to know each other
over a cup of coffee, glass of wine or sweet treat!

After the consultation, I will send you a proposal.  After all of your questions have been answered, securing your date involves signing the contract and paying the retainer fee (all done online, because who has time to go to the post office?).

We make things official !

This is where the fun really begins!  I want to find out who you guys are, what makes you tick, and bring your personalities out in your images.  Nervous about posing?  I got you!  I'll teach you all the tips and tricks to look your best so you're ready to rock on the wedding day!

Love, laughter and time to be you at your engagement session

Need a recommendation on a florist?  Done.  How about help with the perfect timeline?  Done.  My job is to help in any way I can, whether it's related to photography or not.  I want your entire wedding experience to be top notch!

I'm here to help make recommendations, coordinate timelines and ease your stress

On the wedding day, I'll be there to capture all the laughs, tears, and details you've spent so long putting together.  I'll be there to fluff your dress, fix your flyaways, grab you hors d'oeuvres, and calm your nerves.  And, oh yeah, take some epic portraits!

It's time to say "I do!"

Catie made the process fun and easy. My husband was not a fan of taking pictures but Catie adjusted her style to make him comfortable and he was so happy in the end. Catie captured every moment not just posed pictures but true moments. I remember the first time I looked at my pictures after the wedding immediately I was back in that exact moment with the same feelings and emotions…it was magical.

- Carleen & Jason

Catie didn’t feel like a vendor at our wedding she felt like a guest…like a friend.

THEY HAVE THE KINDEST THINGS TO SAY

Catie was amazing at capturing every moment of our wedding. From the initial meeting I knew she was the photographer for us. Her and her team were so friendly and professional. She answered all of my questions quickly and made our wedding day stress free. We couldn't wait to get our wedding photos back and they did not disappoint! They are fabulous! The turn around time was really quick. They are exactly what I wanted. Thank you so much for capturing one of the best days of our lives!

Q: my fiance hates getting his picture taken.  do we have to do an engagement session?

Q: my fiance hates getting his picture taken.  do we have to do an engagement session?

Guys are funny like that, aren't they?  Most guys typically do not like getting pictures taken, and that's ok!  I include an engagement session in my collections for a few reasons.  First, it really helps me connect with you, so that on the wedding day, we're not working together for the first time.  It also helps everyone feel more confident in front of the camera for wedding day portraits.  Instead of spending a lot of time (that we probably will not have) trying to figure out posing and how to "act natural" on the wedding day, the engagement session really helps figure out what works and what doesn't as far as portraits go.  That way, we aren't wasting valuable time on the wedding day.  All that being said, I do not require a couple to have an engagement session, and am more than happy to exchange it for a bridal session.

Q: have you worked at our venue?  does that matter?

Q: have you worked at our venue?  does that matter?

While I have worked at a lot of DFW venues, I have not worked at all of them.  If you are getting married at a venue I have not worked at before, I'd love to schedule a walk-through before the wedding day to figure out lighting, portrait locations, and rain plans.  If you are doing a bridal session at your venue, I would do my walk-through at that point.  Otherwise, I would like to be a part of your final venue walk-through (if you're doing one!).  I do not think it is absolutely necessary to work at the venue beforehand, though.

Q: Do I need a second photographer?

Q: do i need a second photographer?

Plenty of brides question whether a second photographer is necessary (whether from a budget standpoint, or just a practical standpoint).  While a second photographer will absolutely capture a different perspective for every part of the wedding day, they are not always necessary.  A second photographer is for you if:

- You want to make sure both the bride and groom getting ready images are captured.
- You have multiple locations involved (i.e. the ceremony and reception are not at the same venue).
- You have a guest count over 100 people.
- You want multiple perspectives during the ceremony.

If you are planning a wedding that does not fit those guidelines, you probably do not need a second photographer.  Also, from a budget standpoint, you can opt to have the second photographer only capture part of the day.  If you're concerned with budget, reach out and we'll see exactly when you would need a second photographer during your wedding day.

Q: Do you do retouching?

Q: do you do retouching?

AH!  The infamous "just photoshop it out" question!  I truly believe in capturing a person's natural beauty.  I feel like it's the best representation of that person, and do not "photoshop" anything without a specific request from the client.  I will go in to remove blemishes (so don't worry if a massive zit appears in the middle of your face on the wedding day), but I typically leave larger retouching requests for professional editors.  They are much better skilled at Photoshop than I am, so if you have any major retouching requests, I can get a quote from a private editor.

Q: We'd love an album, but it's not in the budget at this point.  What are our options?

Q: We'd love an album, but it's not in the budget at this point.  What are our options?

Totally understandable!  An album may be your first legacy piece for future generations, and they can definitely be an investment!  You do not have to add an album on to your collection on the front end (it saves you some money, but it's not necessary).  In fact, you can purchase one years down the road.  Occasionally, I will run an album sale (so keep an eye out for that), but you can also add an album to your registry.  If you're interested in this, just let me know and I can set up a link for your online registry where guests can contribute to your first heirloom!
