oh hey!

I  believe that the small moments can mean just as much as the big moments, and that images are itching to be printed, placed in beautiful frames and hung on walls for years to come.

I began capturing images on film at the age of 10 when my dad would develop his film in our in-home darkroom (aka the guest bathroom).  When digital cameras came around shortly after my high school years, I remember thinking digital was a phase.  Now I see the benefit and place for both.

Whenever I pick up my camera, I strive to create beautiful and emotional images that tell a story and showcase the beauty of both the people in the images and the world around them.

My love for photography has brought me everywhere from the Salt Flats in Utah to the streets of SoHo. But regardless of where I travel, the hustle and bustle of Dallas will always be my home.

As my wedding couples transitioned into parents, and I had my own kids, I became drawn to capturing the fast-paced childhood years.  With the same intention I approach wedding photography, I now document all the little stages of a growing family.

I was born and raised in dallas, picked up my dad's pentax as a child, and have a passion for preserving memories.

vintage finds

are we the perfect fit?

New isn't always better. I'm a big fan of spending the afternoon sifting through antique shops and secondhand stores for timeless pieces with secret stories. My favorite finds? Vintage ring boxes.

the heart behind the images

When I got married in 2012, I didn't know the impact my wedding images would have on me. I knew investing in these memories was important, but didn't understand the gravity at that moment. From the moment I received my images from our photographer, I was instantly drawn to the portraits of my new husband and me (which is totally understandable given I was a new wife!), but the candids just kind of fell to the wayside. One of those images was a picture of my grandparents dancing, smiling, and having the best time.
Flash forward four years. My grandfather had passed away. I was randomly going through my box of prints and came across that image. I immediately broke down and cried. It was such a simple, candid image, but it showed so much happiness and life. I could feel how they were feeling in that moment. I could almost transport myself right to that moment. It occurred to me that images are how we keep our loved ones alive. When the cake is eaten, and life has managed to unfold, these images are what's left to build a legacy. For most couples, a wedding day is one of the few times the whole family is together enjoying themselves. Capturing those fleeting moments is absolutely why I became a photographer.
