Family sessions are a great way to get new family photos, engage in an experience with your kids, and create a fun tradition. However, selecting outfits can cause a great deal of stress. Here are a few tips to help make the process stress-free!
- Find a color scheme. If you are wanting to display your images in your home, select outfits that coordinate with the colors already in your home.
- Select Mom’s outfit first. Find something you feel beautiful and confident in before selecting other family members’ outfits. After selecting your outfit, decide on the kids’ outfits. Last, decide on dad’s clothing.
- Colors. Avoid bright, neon colors. Neutrals work really well. However, if you want to include colors in certain color families, below is what I would recommend.
If you love Orange—> Choose Rust
If you love Red—> Choose Burgundy
If you love Pink—> Choose Mauve
If you love Yellow—>Choose Mustard
Reds should be avoided because it brings out the red in skin. However, if you are ok with that and love red, wear red.
Stores I would recommend for Moms:
- Asos
- Baltic Born
- Roolee
- Bohme
- H&M
- Zara
- Lulu’s
Stores for Dads:
- Target
- Old Navy
- Men’s Wearhouse
Stores for kids:
- Old Navy
- Reverie Threads
- Janie + Jack
- Target
- Zara
I know as a mom that selecting my outfit is easily the hardest. So to make things easier on you, I am building a complimentary client closet filled with beautiful flowing dresses to make your selections easier. I’ll be creating a blog post once the closet is photographed so you can see what offerings I have available. So excited to share this closet with you!
