About a week ago, I had the pleasure of photographing an Engagement Party for Matt and Marie on the rooftop patio of Tacos and Tequila in Uptown. I rarely get to go down to this part of Dallas, so I was super excited!! Sometimes I feel like I’m just an Uptown girl living in a suburban world (cue Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing”…)
This event was so perfect, even if it did downpour towards the end! Marie had planned so much, from the flowers to the photo backdrop, I just loved it! And who doesn’t love a taco themed party?!?! Their sign-in table was super cute! Marie had put together these little cards with a key tied onto them, and instructed guests to write down a piece of advice for them as they embark on their life together.
They also ordered the cutest koozies as favors, which went perfectly with the theme! And can we just talk about that cake for a minute?! Y’all know how much I love cakes, and this one has got to be one of my favorites of ALL time! I loved the “naked” cake feel with the real cactus on top. And to make it even more over the top, they lit a sparkler on the cake right before cake cutting! Absolute perfection!

And of course, we just had to sneak away for a few portraits of Matt and Marie!
